Happy New Year 2015!

Greetings and Happy New Year Beautiful People,

Another fabulous year has come and gone. Like most folks, as I look back on the previous year, I can’t help but look at my accomplishments, successes, failures and my growth from them all. I experienced a lot last year…good, bad and indifferent. I landed my dream job, moved across country, suffered a devastating family lost, lost my dream job, got divorced, received another level of spiritual growth in my destiny to becoming a Priestess and I moved BACK across country; only to now find myself standing in front of the mirror looking at my body and focusing on the things about my body that “ARE NOT” instead of focusing on the things about my body that “ARE!”

Thank goodness I immediately recognized this and shifted my perspective. In that moment, I decided to focus ONLY on the positive things about my body (and my life). Once I stood fully present in that, I saw and was able to appreciate the beautiful, mature, fit, 50 year old woman that was before me. And I embraced her…all of her; her curves, flaws, perfections, imperfections, mistakes, experiences, accomplishments and failures. I then became oh so grateful, because throughout it all, I am still here, blessed, strong, healthy, focused and prepared to continue on in my desires to achieve and share the knowledge of obtaining and maintaining optimum health.

So, in the spirit of being kind, loving and forgiving, I “resolve” and commit to taking better care of my body, my (whole) self, my family, friends, community and the planet! I lovingly invite you to do the same because when two or more come together with the same focused energy, we really can make a difference in our lives as well as the lives of those that we serve.

May your New Year be full of love, laughter, good healthy food, fun, fitness, growth, prosperity, glamour and ALL of the wonderful things that you desire!!!! Thank you so much for your continued support!

365 Days of Plant-Based Cooking, Eating & Living…Made Easy!

365 Days Waiver Release Form

In an attempt to stay true to my work and mission of “Changing the World One Vegetarian Meal at a Time!” and in addition to the much anticipated upcoming book that I am writing, I’m also in the process of creating a 2015 calendar titled “365 Days of Plant Based Cooking, Eating and Living…Made Easy!” (Copyright 2013)

Designed to give quick, simple and easy tips, meal suggestions, ideas, advice, recipes and plenty of information that people can use daily; this calendar is being created to help others transition to a plant-based diet and/or plant-based lifestyle. In addition, the calendar will also feature an exercise, veggie, fruit, grain and legume of the month.

To make it fun, interesting and exciting, I am asking for your participation. Submit your tip (s), suggestion (s), idea (s), advice, recipe (s) and any information associated with eating, cooking and living a plant-based diet and/or plant-based lifestyle that you may want to share to: A. Chef Ifayomi Victory, P.O. Box 1460, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33302 and possibly be a part of a process that will give us an opportunity to create something that’s informative, practical and engaging.

Much like the Kickstarter concept (which by the way, I plan to use as a means to help fund the production and printing cost of this highly anticipated publication), what you will receive for your information, tip (s), idea (s), suggestion (s), advice, (medical or otherwise) or recipe (s), will be determined based on your level of participation.

Level 1
If you give us a tip, suggestion or piece of advice that we decide to use, you will receive an honorable mention on our FB page and your name printed on the “Thank You & Honorable Mentions” page in the calendar; if you give a meal idea or a significant piece of information (all medical information must contain the resource from which it was obtained) that we decide to use you will receive an honorable mention on our FB page and your name printed on the “Thank You & Honorable Mentions” page in the calendar plus 1 free calendar*.

Level 2
If you are a chef, cook, food enthusiast or foodies that share a recipe and/or meal idea and we decide to use it, you will receive an honorable mention on our FB page, your name printed on the “Thank You & Honorable Mentions” page in the calendar plus one free copy of the calendar* and 15% off all additional orders of 5 or more.

Level 3
If you are a doctor, physician, nurse or medical researcher/professional and we decide to use the information you share, you will receive an honorable mention on our FB page, your name and/or company information printed on the “Thank You & Honorable Mentions” page in the calendar, one free calendar*, plus 50% off the cost of all additional orders of 5 or more.

Level 4
Those who submit more than one submission (i.e. a recipe and meal suggestion) and we decide to use both, you will receive an honorable mention on our FB page, your name printed on the “Thank You & Honorable Mentions” page in the calendar plus a free SIGNED copy of the calendar* and 20% off all additional orders of 5 or more.

This calendar is being created and designed with the passionate idea that with the right information and easy to use recipes, meal ideas, tips and suggestions etc., people will see the simplicity and importance of eating a plant-based diet and how it can be used as a vehicle to help
reverse and in some cases eradicate the diseases associated with hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetes, heart disease, allergies and some forms of cancer. According to a recent “Vegetarian Times” survey 53% of people who follow a plant-based diet do so to improve their overall health. Consequently, with a well thought out marketing and distribution plan, it is our mission and ultimate goal to utilize the calendar as a means of reaching the remaining 47%.

As a result, a portion of the proceeds from the sales of the calendar will go toward: The Vegetarian Resource Group (www.vrg.org), the Physician Committee for Responsible Medicine (www.pcrm.org) the American Diabetic Association (www.diabetes.org), and the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) for their continued effort, research work and support relative to promoting plant-based eating as a means for obtaining and maintaining optimal health.

So, here are my ideas about the content of the calendar and what I’m looking for:
•Scientific medically based information about the benefits of eating a plant-based diet (all medical information must contain the resource from which it was obtained).

•A short, simple and easy tip, suggestion or pieces of information that the reader can apply to their daily diet and/or lifestyle.

•Simple meal suggestions and/or changes that the reader can apply to their daily diet and/or lifestyle.

•Quick and simple raw or cooked plant-based recipes of soups, main dishes and desserts.

•Family favorite recipes that were changed or modified to make them plant-based.

•Grocery shopping tips, suggestions and advice.

•Cooking ideas, tips or suggestions that make transitioning to a plant-based diet simple and worry free.

•Basic Kitchen and/or Plant-Based Lifestyle and Household tips or suggestions.

You don’t have to be vegan or vegetarian to participate, however, your entry MUST be something that a person can change, include, incorporate, prepare, cook or eat that is plant-based (vegan). All submissions must be sent with a signed and dated Waiver/Release Form (see attached).

Any submissions submitted without a dated and signed waiver/release form WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED! The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2013.

In the meantime, please feel free to view the 3 minute “Meet Chef Ifayomi II” YouTube video link at the bottom. I attached it to further share my passion and work in promoting a plant-based diet and to show why I feel as if I am professionally equipped to take on a project such as this one.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and support. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
*Providing that we meet our fund-raising goal for this project, expected shipping for calendars is February 2014.

Note: Submitting an entry to be considered for the calendar does not guarantee that Antoinette M. Victory also known as “A. Chef Ifayomi Victory” and/or any of her affiliates will use your entered submission for the calendar. Based on the amount of entries, information, tip (s), idea (s), suggestion (s) advice and/or recipe (s) submitted, calendar entries sent in for consideration may or may not be used. All usage of information, tips (s), idea (s), suggestion (s) advice and/or recipe (s) to be featured and printed in the calendar will be at the sole discretion of Antoinette M. Victory also known as “A. Chef Ifayomi Victory” and/or all of her affiliates. You will be contacted if any or all of your submissions are being considered.

World Cancer (Awareness) Day

Being an avid reader, especially about health, fitness and wellness, I recently picked up a natural health magazine that had a calendar list with all the spiritual, emotional and fitness health “Days” that we should be aware of.

According to this calendar yesterday (Monday, February 4th) was World Cancer Day. I’m not sure about what this means exactly but in an attempt to help bring awareness to the causes of cancer and how you/we/us can eradicate this disease, I would like to share some information that was published by John Hopkins Medical Center several years ago.

Educate yourselves people…and then make a CHANGE!

*****************************************************************************************************************************

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY (WITH “TRY” BEING THE KEY WORD) AND ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHN HOPKINS MEDICAL CENTER IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY

Cancer Update from John Hopkins Medical Center:
1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person’s lifetime.

3. When the person immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To over come the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc., and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However, prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

CANCER CELLS FEEDS ON:
a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc. are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg’s Liquid Aminos or Sea Salt.

b. Cow’s milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastrointestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off cow’s milk and substituting with unsweetened soya milk cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. According to JOHN HOPKINS MEDICAL CENTER a meat-based diet is acidic and they (JOHN HOPKINS MEDICAL CENTER) are suggesting that if you are going to eat meat, that it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork (I personally and professionally DO NOT advocate nor am I suggesting eating or consuming meat of any kind). Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of at least 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C)

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines becomes putrefied (to render putrid; cause to rot or decay with an offensive odor) and leads to more toxic buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body’s killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, and minerals, EFA’s etc.) to enable the body’s own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis (a normal, genetically regulated process leading to the death of cells and triggered by the presence or absence of certain stimuli, as DNA damage) or programmed cell death, the body’s normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted or unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level.

I’m just sayin’…..
